“CinnamonPirate? What the hell kind of name is that?”

One of the strangest Web site titles I’ve had yet, CinnamonPirate also seems like the best.

Cinnamon is my favorite spice, and pirates kick ass. Since I love cinnamon and pirates kick ass, CinnamonPirate seems like a good name. It is so strange that readers won’t forget it, and it has the fringe benefits of misdirecting to this Web site thousands of netizens who are searching for recipes, pirates or recipes made by pirates.

If you’re looking to syndicate the page, you can use this RSS feed.

Hosting

CinnamonPirate.com is hosted by and has always been hosted by the fine people at Versus Technologies. The account is an early adopter and was one of the first on their servers. The hosting solution was found after a very dishonorable deletion by Hostik, my former host. Hostik is so incredibly evil that I will not link it, as that would bump up its Google PageRank.

Software

This Web site was initially powered by a content management system of my own design called Kung Fu. It sucked, because I spent more time working on Kung Fu than adding content. Around 2004 I switched to WordPress, which I have used ever since. The current look of the page is a slightly modified Hemingway by Tomasz Sterna.

Photography

Photographs used in this Web site are shot primarily using a Nikon D40X. I own three lenses: the Nikkor 18-55mm kit lens, a Sigma 70-210mm manual lens and a Vivitar 17-28mm. My oldest pictures are shot with a Sony Mavica CD-1000, which I retired in early 2008. Most images are retouched using Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo.
